My Why
Grief can be a thing. It can be a thing that shut you down. It can be a thing that pushes you forward. For me, it was both. After my mom died from renal failure 2 days after Christmas 2016 (kidney and liver caused by an autoimmune disease) I stayed in bed for weeks. I ate all of the comfort food, drank the wine, watched all the TV. I also went straight to the naturopath and had every test run imaginable to see if I had any issues with my heart, organs, blood, etc. Thankfully, everything came back normal… healthy.
After the initial shock and sadness dimmed and faded slightly away I was able to work, to laugh, to be with friends and not feel immense sadness. Slowly but surely, I was returning to normal. Almost a year later I saw some posts on Facebook about a new 80 day workout program that was coming out. I’d always wanted toned arms and wondered if i could ever have visible abs but I had never actually worked out. Blessed with “skinny” genes, I’d been able to eat whatever and maintained a slim (ish) figure. I’m not sure what came over me when I decided to go all in on a three month commitment to working out for an hour a day and even more shocking, eat from a strict list of healthy foods at specific times of day, BUT I did.
Do you want to know what I found? Aside from losing 13 lbs and 10 inches, aside from having toned arms, legs, and baby abs…. I found Erin again. Did I know she was missing? Nope. But it was as if a spark was reignited in me, one I didn’t know had gone out. I had FINISHED something. You guys, I didn’t even graduate high school. I dropped out of college when I found out i was pregnant with my son. I jumped around jobs all through my 20s to try to provide a more stable life for him. All of a sudden I was proud, I was joyful, I was confident. This didn’t just happen overnight. It took months and has continued to take a daily commitment to putting myself first so that I can give back more to others.
I have been able to maintain this weight loss, the lifestyle, the confidence over the last 2 years because I learned the value of eating for fuel, the value of moving my body daily, the value of reading and listening to personal development daily. I’ve been able to move on from longer workouts and strict eating to a more flexible nutrition plan, shorter workouts, which have allowed me to develop a strong morning routine full of gratitude and connecting with my goals.
I love helping others experience the same thing that I have, after all, I wouldn’t have finished if I hadn’t had a group cheering me on on my toughest days.

Erin reached out to me about joining her in a fitness challenge group through Beach Body (Transform 20 with Shaun T) when I was 7 months post-partum with my second child. She had been doing Beach Body workouts and programs for over a year at this point, and her fitness journey was inspiring. It was perfect timing for me; while I had lost a lot of the baby weight already, I was NOT where I wanted to be (both physically and mentally) and Erin’s invitation and encouragement led me to give it a shot. I have done a handful of workout programs before, none with much success, so I was skeptical that this one would work for me. However, with the accountability of having a coach to check in with and a group of people who were also doing the program at the same time as me, I went full in and gave it a shot. I never missed a workout and followed the suggested nutrition plan about 99% of the time. During this six week program, I was also a part-time stay at home mom to my infant and my 3 year old, taught as an adjunct professor at a nearby university, taught private voice lessons a couple days a week, and was in rehearsal in the evenings for a musical production.
My transformation from day 1 to day 41 was beyond what I had hoped: nine pounds and several inches lost, energy gained, mental clarity increased, attitude about life in general far more positive, and more self-confidence than I have ever had in my life. I immediately started the program over again for a second round, and lost another 6 pounds while gaining more muscle definition. Now, almost 7 months later, I just started my fourth round of T20 with my little sister and have maintained my weight loss (less than what I weighed in high school!) while still increasing my muscle mass. I cannot say enough positive things about the Beach Body programs and Erin’s coaching; if you want to change your body and and achieve your fitness goals, STOP making excuses or thinking you’ll start when you’re less busy or when the timing is right or when your kids are older or when your big project is finished. You have to decide to make the commitment and just start on day one. Erin will be there to help you follow through on whatever program you decide to do, and she will help you achieve your goals if you are willing to let her!
THANK YOU Erin for this life-changing opportunity and for your encouragement along the way!

Like a lot of people, I knew that I SHOULD workout, but the idea of going to the gym was just unrealistic, and I hadn’t seen much success in the cardio only programs that I had been doing.
Initially, I thought Erin was NUTS! Getting up super early, packaging all of her meals in these little color containers, and seemingly on some sort of upper (I mean, WHAT DO THEY PUT IN THAT ENERGIZE STUFF?). I have always been a positive optimistic person, but I had had a hard year and between eating my feelings and drinking my feelings, my body was starting to show the signs of sadness.
I decided to jump in and give the program a try with Erin as my coach and I am proud to say that in the 6 months that I have been doing these workouts, I am down 15 lbs and happier than ever.
That’s my real take away – numbers are nothing compared to the energy and happiness I feel. So, Erin wasn’t doing uppers, she was just living her best life and reaping the rewards.
I would recommend this program and specifically Erin as a coach to any friend or family member feeling like they are in a funk. It is a low pressure, supported health journey and I am the living proof!

I’ve known Erin for the past 4 or 5 years. We met in a local performance group. So when I started to follow her on Social Media, I started watching her postings on her own health and well being journey. At first it was just something in my feeds that I would watch out of curiosity. Thinking that she was doing something so far and away more than I personally could ever attempt. I would make the occasional comment, stating that I was so impressed, but because of my limitations, I could NEVER do what she was doing. But Erin was so open to encourage me. She saw my concerns and validated me. But as a way to offer help, she introduced me to Ultimate Portion Fix to get my nutrition dialed in and therefore improve my health. She never pushed anything that I wasn’t ready to do. But, I was willing to try the UPF program to see if it could help. Within a relatively short time, I began to feel better! To date I’ve lost 23 lbs. and have been able to increase my activity. So much so that (and I can’t believe I am saying this), I have opted to take on an exercise program! I am climbing the stairs in my house without needing the banister! I am in less pain (from Fibromyalgia). I am sleeping better!, I have such a different outlook. A belief in my ability to change my circumstances that I didn’t have before.
Erin is so down to earth and real. Her daily posts on Social Media have served to encourage and motivate me to continue. Her focus has been on health and well being. NOT strictly on losing weight. At least not in the traditional sense. She is about getting strong and feeling great. For the first time in years I have hope and belief that I can be better. Be healthier, and get stronger. Currently my goal is to change my body to work FOR me, and not AGAINST me. To regain my health and sense of well being. Sure,…to lose weight and get into smaller clothes,…let’s not get that twisted. But that will be the side benefit! I have a LONG way to go to reach my ultimate goals, but I am so grateful to have Erin in my corner!
